Moulded 3D Letters

Built Up 3D Letters

Also known as: CHANNEL LETTERS | EXTRUDED LETTERS | 3D LETTERS | RAISED LETTERS

Built Up Letters also know as Channel Letters are an excellent and most striking way of creating signs. Their impact is undeniable and when it comes to getting you noticed, there is arguably nothing better.

What Are Built Up Letters

The process of creating a built up letter starts first by the creation of a Flat Cut Letter. This flat letter is then ‘built up’ by the addition of a return. These returns can vary in depth and usually when the letter is ordered it is specified.

The returns are made from the same material as the letter face and depending on the material they are either heated or folded to match the shape of the letter face.

These are then glued onto the backside of the letter face. In the case of stainless steel the returns are soldered on.

What size Letters can you have?

You can have virtually any size you like. As the letters are custom made we can make them as big as you want.

The limitation on size is at the smaller end and there we cannot go below 100mm in height

Are Built Up Letters expensive?

Built Ups are more expensive than simple Vinyl Signs or for that matter Flat Cut Letters. However, you need to balance this against a number of factors:-

Does your budget allow you to extend to this type of sign. As an illustration, The word “Built” at 100mm height with 50mm returns in Polished Stainless Steel would cost you approximately £220.00 plus VAT and Shipping.

If you have less of a budget constraint and your objective is to maximise visibility and positively project your ‘brand’ then arguably Built Up Letters offer the best solution. top-iconTop

Can I have Illumination with these types of Letters?

Most definitely. When Built Up Letters are combined with illumination they can yield stunning results. There are number of ways in which Illuminatiion can be used with Built Up Letters.

Halo Effect: This is where the illumination is embedded into the reverse of the letter. The Letter is then mounted onto a wall maintaining a short distance. The illumination then creates a ‘halo’ like effect as you can see below. top-iconTop
