Acrylic is a thermoplastic commonly known as acrylic glass. It is sold under a variety of trade names such as Perspex, Lucite, Plexiglas. It is often used as an alternative to glass and arguably it has properties which make it superior to glass.

It is widely used in the signage industry because of its versatility. It has high impact resistance and excellent weathering and ageing properties.

Combined with an exceptionally high quality surface finish and the fact that it is half as heavy as glass makes it ideal for signs and displays.

There are two type of acrylic that are commonly available - Extruded and Cast. For signage purposes, cast acrylic is used more often.

One of the clear advantages that acrylic has over glass is that it can be cut with power tools relatively easily.

Glass on the other hand can only be cut by scoring. Other significant advantages of acrylic are that with the application of heat acrylic can be formed into virtually any shape.

They maintain a high transparency- even at inch thick their clarity is very high. (Unlike glass which tends to take on a green hue at these sorts of thickness's ).

Is Acrylic expensive

Using Acrylic in signage is very inexpensive and your ROI is very quick.

Typically we see that on any sign you can get your money back within 3-4 months of the sign going up.

What sizes are available

For full sheets, we can offer sizes in 1220x2440mm and 2040x3050mm. We can also cut them to size upon request. They are also available in a variety of colours and thickness(3mm, 4mm,5mm,6mm,10mm)

They are also available in rod and tube form
