Moulded Letters
Moulded Letters are an attractive and very cost effective way to get 3D lettering onto your signage.
What are Moulded Letters
Moulded letters are letter forms that are 'moulded' or pressed out of a substrate. Typically this substrate is Acrylic.
Just as Flat Cut Letters, Moulded letters start out as a design in a software program. The letter design is then converted to a vectorised format which is then used to create the letter. The main difference between this type of letter from Built Up Letters or Flat Cut Letters is that because the letter is made from a mould, there is a restriction on the number of typeface available and the sizes. You have to choose from a fixed number of
What size Letters can you have?
Moulded Letters are available in a series of stepped sizes. Why? This is because each letter is made from a mould and therefore there is a limitation on the number of moulds available. Having said that, there is a good range of sizes from 4" high to 24" high
Are Moulded Letters expensive?
Moulded Letters are extremely affordable, as they are virtually mass produced. There is a high one off cost to create the mould, but this is rarely passed on, instead the cost of the mould is recovered gradually over each order.
Can I have Illumination with these types of Letters?
Yes. In a similar fasion to Built Up Letters, Moulded letters can be illuminated from reverse using LEDs or Neon. This is often called 'halo' becasue of the 'halo' effect that is created when used in this way.
