What are lightboxes?
As the name suggests Lightboxes are simply cases with an installed light source - usually this is cold cathode, commonly called tube lights.
Generally the cases are made from aluminium and they can be powder coated to virtually any colour required.
They are versatile, easy to install and conveniently provide illumination. They are also durable and easy to maintain.
What size Lightboxes can I have?
Pretty much any size you want. From small ones that can fit in a window to giant ones that you can walk through, similar to the ones you see on the sides of roads.
Are Lightboxes expensive?
As a means of providng illuminated signs, they are not. Because the light source is flourescent, they tend to consume less energy than standard incandescent illumination.
If you combine this with a timer so that the sign illuminates for only part of the night, even more savings can be achieved.
You mention 'Powder Coating' above. What is that?
Powder coating is a means by which the aluminium casing of the lightbox is painted. The process results in a smooth, even coat of paint that is highly durable.
Powder coating colours are selected from a chart called a RAL swatch colour chart. This is similar to a Pantone Swatch chart that you find in the printing industry.
